Title: Day and Night in Hyperbolic World

Artist’s Statement: This piece is one of my experiments to get insight into how rhythm changes in the hyperbolic plane. Both colors are used in equal amounts; I crocheted the piece as a symmetric hyperbolic plane, changing colors every time I finished a skein. I was expecting that the pattern would be less regular, but actually half of the work became predominantly turquoise, while the other became predominantly dark purple. Therefore the title—Day&Night.
