Janice Ewing's Pythagorean mini-quilt

Title: Pythagorean Impressions
Artist: Janice Ewing
Technique: Quilting

Artist’Äôs Description: There are hundreds of proofs of the Pythagorean Theorem, and many of them consist of staring at a special diagram. The most famous is by the Hindu mathematician Bhaskara (1114-1185 C.E.) and was accompanied by the single word "Behold!" It forms the center of this miniature quilt, surrounded by patterns that suggest other proofs. One could make an enormous quilt based solely on proofs of the Pythagorean Theorem, spiraling outward from the center.
