Artist's Description: The projective plane is a closed surface with no inside or outside. It cannot be realized in three-dimensional space without either having a self-intersection or a boundary. This particular projective plane was produced by creating a M��bius strip and then contracting its boundary as much as physically possible. This purple projective plane has three blue M��bius bands: one light-blue M��bius band is on the boundary and one is along the path furthest from the boundary; the dark-blue M��bius band is halfway between the two light-blue bands.
