Artist’Äôs Description: True self-intersection. This figure was knitted as a tube with a figure-eight cross-section (the knitted rows alternating in the crossover; see accompanying image of object-in-progress) and then the edges were sewn together. Purely stockinette stitch, always knitting, never switching to purl. Note that this causes a discontinuity at the seam. Stuffed to show structure better.
